belt size for 145a alternator
#1
My truck came with stock 105 alternators and I up grade to 145a. Now I have this squealing belt that can't get it to stop. I put a belt for 130a alternator on truck. What belt size are you guys running with the 145a alternator? Thanks.

The belt size for the 145amp should be the same as the 130amp to the best of my knowledge as they have the same size case. I don’t know for certain the belts are exactly the same length but when I upgraded from the stock 130amp on mine to a 145amp, I used the same belt and never had an issue. I don’t recall what size belt that was, as I’ve had the Radix on there for 4 years unfortunately.
I hope for your sake you get it figured out, as I for one can't stand belt squeaks and squeals.

Here's the part number for the belt that I've been using with my 145amp alt for over 5 years: 12576451
It's been working fine, except for recently, after I swapped in my Circle-D billet multi-disc...now it squeals for a split second when lock up engages since it hits so hard and the lockup is instantaneous. I may try a shorter belt or a new tensioner, or just a new belt of the same part number, since it's over 5 years old, and the truck sat for 18 months which may have contributed to it drying out.
