Default Bearing clearances

Looking for some help from the LS guys. Iron 4.8/5.3L gen IV block. Scatt crank, scatt rods. Engine will be FI from a turbo. What are guys setting main and rod clearance to. I have been getting much mixed info on this so I am curious on what other people have been using.

Scatt said “LS rule of thumb .001” clearance for every 1” journal diameter” puts me at .00256” mains and .00209” rod clearance

Mahle the bearing I am using says .00075” to .001” per journal diameter so that leaves clearance at .00192”-.00256” main and .00157”-.00209” rods. Mahle also says to add .0005 to the standard clearance for high performance engines. Which could bump me up to .00242”-.00306” main and .0162”-.00259” rods

Machine shop I have been using said “mains at .0025” and rods at .003” for clearance

(Seems weird as that would put the rods with .001” extra clearance and the mains right on spec.

Published books (how to build and modify GM LS- series engines by Joseph Potak) says stock to mild performance .0008”-.00210” main, .0009”-.0025” Rod and high performance to racing .99250”-.00275” Main, .00225”-.00250 Rod & (how to build build GM LS-series engines by Chris Werner) says .0025”-.0030” mains .0021” rods.
