I dont have exp with twins this size, how long do you guess it would take to get to 17psi idle flooring it with a normal setup??
i say you fix the trans and turn the nitrous on and retry it again..

Well it's 1700hp worth of turbo so probably a while I know my single 82 on the same engine was a dog unless I brake boosted it to get it going before engine rpm got too high.

The plan is basically fix the trans and try s couple different combinations of pulley size and turbo boost to see how that behaves. Also probably do a 50 shot and use my spray bars for meth instead of the nozzles since I had such good luck with that before.

S400-75/83, T4 with 3.5" downpipes. The 1700 is the number Jose gave me for this size engine. I dont ever plan on pushing them hard enough to verify that, but interesting data point nonetheless.

Well got the trans fixed and got it back, also took the converter to PTC to have them look at it and open up the TCC oring journal area thing since it was way too tight and I never could install the converter correctly without rolling the oring. Maybe I will have some converter lockup since I havent had that work in years because of the oring. The converter is so tight that it really didnt matter much. I have it up in there but dont have everything hooked up since im debating what to do with the exhaust and working on the new ideas to help with the underhood heat.

The main thing is I am going to eliminate the 2 underhood tanks (1 for the SC and 1 for the turbos) and my 3 bosch pump setup and go to a big single pump setup with an ice box in the bed. In keeping with the theme im going to use a 42 quart $15 igloo cooler I bought last summer with some 1.5" NPT bulkheads and lines running through the bottom of the bed so it cant be seen. The pump will be mounted under the bed since it needs a gravity flow to it. I am going to use a pierburg CWA400 pump. This pump comes on newer BMW cars and suvs and is a electronically controlled main engine pump. The tricky part is you need a PWM controller to use it, which is easy with an aftermarket ECU, but I got a $12 one from amazon and it seems to work just fine. The flow rate on this pump is pretty nuts, and the main thing is it is designed to have some head pressure against it and flow rate doesnt tank with pressure like the commonly used rule pumps. I am going to run all 3 intercoolers in parallel so the flow will be split from a 1.5" hose to 3x 3/4" hoses then returned the same way with a similar manifold. I will probably put a pressure gauge in there just to see what the pressure is doing with the pump settings.

new intercooler res

1.5" npt bulkhead and barb

I was originally going to go with a CWA200, but I bought a "new" one from amazon and it was clearly a cheap knockoff and I couldnt get it to work no matter what. I got on ebay and found a cwa400 from a wrecked BMW to make sure it was an authentic pierburg pump. The pumps are identical in size but the flow of the 400 is about double. Roughly 50gallons per minute at 13psi is what the chart says.

real cwa400 on left from ebay, knockoff cwa200 on right that was DOA

Here is a test video I took tonight using a jump start thing as the power source so the voltage was lower than it would be with the truck running.

The plan is to keep the cooler full of ice water and only turn it on when needed vs the current tanks baking in the engine bay right next to the turbo. Hopefully will help a lot.

You need something like this on the suction side... The only thing I could find on line was a Flow Rite Strainer Screw-on Mpa-023

But I believe we use one similar on the Equipment I work on that might fit the 1-1/2 fittings. I will do some digging next week and see what I can find.

Yea, I was going to use some sort of screen, definitely want something with a lot of area that wont restrict the flow too much.
