I hope I'm not late for work!

I agree that if you built a CAI and boxed it in to keep it from sucking in hot undergood air it would help drop your cruising IATs and give a lower starting point before you press the go pedal. Even at cruise the velocity of the air coming in wouldn't be heated 40* by the j tube and blower case alone. A few degrees yeah but not a full 40*.

Also is your IAT sensor the threads style or grommet style? I believe Whipple used to use the threaded style then switched over to the grommet style because of heatsoak issues with the threaded style.

So I plan to get my $20 petro, but managed to round off some ubolt bolts in the process of replacing my tcase output shaft seal, but its coming!
I want to put a cutout back on, but I cant decide if I want to try and use the 5" one I already have or spend the $220 on one of the boost activated ones. Only thing is that is only 4".

I never understand why people think their cutout need to be the same size as there exhaust. It's not like you're blocking off the muffled exhaust port and sending everything to the cutout. You're just opening the pre-muffler pipe to NA to reduce back pressure. I bet you get the same result from a 3" cutout as you would a 5" cutout... A 3" hole is a hell of a leak!

Well I plan to use a stock muffler so thats a hell of a restriction for what I am planning
The 5" is a leftover from my turbo with the 5" downpipe/4" exhaust. You would think that is just gobs of airflow, but going from that to a 5" elbow out of the fender was a noticeable change in spool time.
They say the boost activated one is fully open by 6-7psi so I should be more than ok there.

So got my REALLY cold air intake setup ready to test yesterday

But I started the truck in the garage and let it idle, happened to look under it and saw fuel dripping from the tank area. I only needed to drive for a few minutes, but fuel leaks are usually pretty bad so turned it off and decided to try and find where it was from. Fuel system hasnt been touched in ~6 years and consist of dual walbro400 pumps in an 05 tank using -8an line to an aeromotive filter and the return line is -6an to the stock feed line.
Pulled the bed, didnt see anything, so I dropped the tank and turned the truck on to find it while running. I was poking around and pulled on the feed line and definitely found my problem. The hose lining that the fitting clamps on to had failed and the hose ripped out from the fitting. Its amazing how much fuel a single walbro400 moves with your thumb over the hose, but the truck died obviously and killed the pump.
Good opportunity to replace the fuel filter so I went ahead and did that and made a new hose section from some stainless hose I have laying around. Tested all the other hose ends and they seemed fine, even the other end of this section was fine. Fittings are a mix of Fragola and Summit and hose is summit nylon braided.
The lucky part of the story is this happened in my garage where it was easy to fix, and aside from filling my garage with gasoline wasnt too bad. Already got everything fixed, but since the bed is off I am going to go ahead and do the top crossbar to get the shocks vertical.
