Seems like one of those things would be prone to making that horrible exhaust leak ticking noise if you didn't have a bunch of pipe after it. Is that such the case or no?

Why would you think that? That seal seems pretty good and in theory the vacuum at part throttle will help keep it closed. Thats what I am hoping for anyway.

I was lookling into a boost activated cutout when I was shopping. The only thing that kept me from buying one was the want to open it at idle and cruise. You will never get the open turbine sound with a boost activated cutout on a turbo setup. I went with Summits 3 inch electric cut out with a switch. It take 2 seconds to open whenever i want. Its never a "ohh crap i dont have time to flip a switch open before this race" situation.

I agree the vac of the motor should keep it sealed tight but the warning of exhaust leaks on the site is a little red flag.

Just ask Clyde if his loud valves leak. That under car video on their FB page is his car.
