Just thought you'd wanna know that you were exactly right! The MAF readings at idle were way off from expected, probably due to the bend right before the sensor. Will be moving it to the straight section before the bend when putting this all back together. Hopefully that'll fix the readings or at least help.

Giggidy... painted and mounted MAP sensor directly instead of off a Tee and also set up vacuum ports directly off of manifold to keep things a bit neater at the back of engine.
Now need to order the MAC boost solenoid to work with my AEM boost gauge/controller and wire that up.

It's one hit after the other for me!
the heads that the shop had sent to the machine shop were 853 heads that have the notch in them. They already milled the heads and swapped the valves and springs etc. without filling the notches, doh! So welding the notch is gonna require another cleanup cut ... and each cut is gonna reduce chamber volume and increase compression.
So my LS9 gaskets aren't gonna work with the notch, cos with my luck, they will leak.
My two options are to get the notch welded and do a cleanup cut or use Fel-Pro 1161 gaskets that are designed to work with the notch and send the LS9 gaskets back (cheaper) ... ugh ... either way, the truck will be down longer

Got heads back from machine shop for the second time. This time they were welded up and milled for a cleanup cut and cc'd. They came in at 64cc and we're shooting for 10:1 ... but the pistons installed are wrong and are actually Wiseco 6cc domed ... doh. No dough to pull engine now, so just ordered custom Cometic gaskets to get me back down to pump gas levels. Ugh...this is really frustrating.

Well, just waiting for gaskets now...takes about 3-4 days to make and ship I was told by Cometic, so I guess it'll be a week or so.
So, I put everything away and did some spring cleaning around the garage today.

Also go into the engine bay with a brush, rags and carb cleaner and went to town cleaning the deck surface and all the piston tops, they're all squeaky clean now. My neighbor gave me a wierd look when she saw me IN the engine compartment haha
