Well looks like I'll be pulling the heads this weekend. Its peace of mind and I don't wanna blow up the turbo with a diluted oil mixture. After reading up a bit, got some LS9 head gaskets coming and will also be using copper spray as done by some for a bit of additional sealing. Now just wondering I wanna coat just the two sides or between each layer also like a few have done. Decisions decisions. ..

Well yeah that was my initial thought. But its got to the point where I'd leave home and get to my buddies shop and have a bunch of water that drains out. Then almost immediately turn around and dive to another shop and again have water draining out. And when I mean draining out, it's not a drop or two, it's a small stream that flows out the valve and the filter on top of the catch can is drenched. Fml

Atleast it's got ARP studs so things may be a bit easier lol

Well took some time and pulled the heads today. Def a lot of "milk" in there ... taking heads to the machine shop to get pressure tested etc for good measure. heads only have mild chamber work and larger valves installed, wish I had the $$$ to put some better heads on while I'm at it

As it sits

Was able to take the turbo kit out as one big piece ... giggity

dropped it off and asked them to give it a full checkup and to mill if it was warped ... my bank account is getting pissed off as much as the wife (I've only just made the first payment on the truck and I've worked on it longer than I've driven it). Hopefully, this is the last big issue and the next phase (tuning) goes off without issues...

Got a set of stock 5.7 heads sent over to get the valves and springs swapped over. It'll lower the comp by a 1/4 point supposedly but nothing a bit of timing and boost can't fix. Still... Def. not a happy camper right now.
Using the extra time to clean up bay and paint some items etc.
