Default NNBS 5.3 Injector Swap

I'm thinking about getting a turbo kit for my '08 Z71 with the LY5 iron block 5.3 and am creating a parts list to get an idea of the total cost of the project and I'm going to swap the stock injectors to some 60lb injectors. I read somewhere that I need to use LS3 injectors for a direct swap with no spacers needed for the fuel rail or modifications to the injector harness. Is this correct? What kind is recommended?

I wish there was a write up to the different engine models and injectors that will work with each combo, along with the necessary modifications needed if you use a different style injector. I've looked for one here and on ls1tech but didn't really see anthing. I maybe overlooked it haha.

Thanks,
Keith

Yeah im doing the same thing on my 09, so far I have most of the parts minus the fuel system. From what iv read and reaserched our injectors use the UScar connectors and are the ls2 type now im not 100% sure on this but ill be ordering some 57lb FAST injectors from speed engineering soon so ill get back to you on that..... I have spent maybe 1500 so far on misc. parts and maybe need another 1000 and I should be done with the way i want it. Are you going top mount or rear?

Three6GMC, do you know what stock flow rating is for the 5.3s? says 33-lb/hr for the stock LS2, wonder if ours is the same.

Are the injectors on our trucks tall or short style? I just checked and they look like the tall style. Which makes sense as the LS2s are tall.

yeah well there considered the "short" style because the ls1/6 injectors are the tall ones and the l76/l92/ls7 are "shorty" style as they are the shortest injectors if that makes sense.....ours are in between from what i understood

Good looking kit so far...looks like I'll be using those same injectors. I'll be going with a front mount, either MP 70mm or 76mm. I'm thinking the 70 would be sufficient for my initial power goals and weak 4L60e tranny. When I get bored I'll upgrade to a ball bearing 76 with a 4L80e.

What other fuel system upgrades are you doing? Tuning it yourself?

Thanks for the information about the injectors.

for fuel for now just a walbro 255 intank and those injectors which should be fine for the 8lbs of boost i want to run, but later after i get a good built motor and turn up the boost i plan on going with dual intank walbro 255's -10AN fuel line to some Fast fuel rails same injectors or maybe bigger and convert to a return style fuel system with a A1000 Aeromotive boost referenced regulator. Its overkill even for my next setup cuz i only plan on maybe 15lbs max boost but rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. oh and as for tuning I have a buddy down in the valley who tunes it for me with HP Tuners software and a Innovate wideband
