Default Driveshaft recommendations.

I have a an 07 crew with a 5.3, 3.42 gears. I will be installing a built 6.0 with a maggie, 3.73 gears, and probably a 3000 stall. What I would like to know is what I should do about the driveshaft. Anticipated rwhp is going to be in the 550 range. Again this is a crew cab.Thanks.

So you are saying a stock driveshaft is capable of 550 hp.

I can think of 4 or 5 trucks here that run the stock shaft with that HP and more.

At minimum, find a driveline shop near you and get the stock one removed, inspected, and high-speed balanced. If the stocker can't tolerate what you will be putting through it, the driveline shop should be able to tell you that.

that ' OEM driveshaft will blow 'sonner or later' espeacilly over 100MPH . if i were you get a build shaft' with 1350 slip yoke / 1350 u-joints . . besides if they blow. they take parts with them .. and you could damage ur rear-End < mine blew after 130mph . .
