The LS2 TB is 90mm DBW which would require some mods to get working or the theoretical NW 90MM unit that is coming out. The guys on ls1tech seem to have found that the LS2 intake does not make as much power as the LS6 despite the bigger TB.

If I have an lq4 with 3 bolt DBW TB and want to switch to an LS series intake, could I simply get the ls2 intake and 3 bolt DBW throttlebody and have it plug and play (the TB that is) or are they electrically different? I know there are fuel rail/injector/accessory drive mods to make the LS series intakes fit the truck motors, I am just asking about the TB compatibility.
It may be a moot point, as it seems there are NEVER any LS series DBW throttlebodies available, only manifolds.

The 90mm Ls2 throttle bodies are not plug and play onto a DBW truck. They can be made to work using an adapter harness from Speartech and a new TAC module from an 02 truck. Doing it this way will work, but the TB blade only opens 88% or so. The stock 3 bolt pattern 78mm truck DBW throttle body will not bolt to a LS2 intake without making an adapter, but why bother bolting a 78mm TB to a 90mm intake?

Wow, thanks for the info. Glad to find that people are helpful on this board and know their **** like we on rx7club. I have a general idea of what I want to do with this truck, but I have little idea about parts year/model application and interchange like some of you guys.
So how about an ls6 manifold with my truck TB...equally as pointless?
Does the ls6 stock DBW TB work on a truck?
