I received a quote for a cam swamp and it was pretty reasonable ($1300 - cam package, install, fluids, and tune). So that is $1300 for say 35hp/35tq. Now if I spent that type of cash on a nitrous system, I would have a kick-*** wet setup good for 125hp.
What whould you do?

go cam, plus you can get a lot more for 1300
I bought a cam
stall
springs
pushrods
for $940. Since you already have a stall all you need is the cam, pushrods and springs and then install it yourself and get it tuned which you could easily do for under a grand then buy a nitrous kit for 500 and you spent $1500 and have 150-200 hp

The price break down on the cam swap is TSP cam package $600.00, fluids $50, Street tune $150, larbor $400 (includes springs) plus shipping and tax. So the only savings is $400. Now consider the time issue. I have no time for a dyi (self employed and wife works weekends and I have two kids to watch when wife works).

If longevity isnt an issue go nitrous give a bigger gain but be prepaired to knock off at least 50k miles from the engines total life or more; then consider which is cheaper a new motor or cam?

where did ya hear that BS!
do superchargers knock off 50000 miles too?
Maybe if you never change your oil.
Nitrous if used correctly (correct size jetting, no 200 shots
)isnt going to knock off mileage the way people drive and maintain their vehicles
is what makes the difference.
Now of course there is a risk associated with spraying but hell thats with everything these days.
"nitrous is like a hot chick with STDs you know you wanna hit it but you dont want to face the consequences"
where two condoms and hit it
JFWY!
