Default lq9 piston and rod question

Is $200 for low mile(20-80k) lq9 pistons and rods a good deal? I want to get a lq9, but they are hard to find. but I found these pistons and rods, and a lq4 long block( for cheap), and want to build one. I would rather do this than put heads on my 5.3. just wanted to know. thanks

get a bore guage on the block first before you buy pistons . . .

. . . depending on piston skirts . . . check the wear

Rods are the same. no need for those. I would recommend new piston GM# 19178305. Check the bore like stated above before you buy anything. If boor measure 3.999-4.001 these pistons will be O.K.. If its bigger you will need aftermarket after a hone.

rods are not the same until 04 and later. 03 and back used the regular "smaller" rod.

I think you guys are referring to the LQ4 rods. As I understand it, the LQ9 rods are the same from 03 on up, but in 05, the LQ4 also got the LQ9 rods (it used to have a weaker, less desirable rod), so the LQ4, LQ9, and LS2 all share the same connecting rods now

LQ9 rods are all the same. Some 04 and all 05+ 6.0's went to the new rod and full floating piston design.
