Ebay/OBX style header install w/plenty of PICS (LONG, but detailed)
#141
When i had long tubes and a 21" hooker aerochamber on my RST people ALWAYS told me how good my truck sounded and it had to be because of the way the original RST exhaust was run with the RST tips

Could be a gasket. I put a set of headers on my last V8 truck. I had a leak on the DS, just a small tic. Did you re-use the OEM gaskets? Cheapest and a good way to go. I didn't the first time around, that's what caused mine. I don't think the gaskets that come with the headers look all that great.

yes, i wrapped #5 and #7 with some heat wraps. I also reused my original gaskets because i also didnt think too much of the gaskets that were sent in the box. looked a bit cheap and like they wouldn't last long. I've gone over all my plug wires and even installed new spark plugs. I also noticed the drivers side header has a tight fit and may be hitting up on the floor board as Im driving around. Anyone else have this problem?

Got mine installed and overall the fitment was excellent. A couple of points.
1. They don't provide anything to block the egr.
2. I had to find 2 bolts to connect the y pipe to the stock exhaust.
3. I had to cut the end of a bolt off that was holding a heat shield on because the drivers side resonator was hitting it.
4. That hump on the drivers side makes the access to the rear header bolts and spark plug almost impossible. I actually installed them from the bottom.
5. I used a piece of a coat hanger and a bolt into the head to hold the 5,7 spark plug wires off the headers.
After I got everything squared away, there is at least 1/4 inch clearance everywhere, and nothing is touching the frame or cross member.
