Default 04 Escalade 6.0

So since the junk yard motor i got is junk. My friend found me a 04 Escalade motor with 74k on it for 1400 yes i know 1400 i think its a bit high so what do you guys think. Also do the escalades have more power or better flowing heads than the 6.0s in the pickups???

Probably a good engine. Its an LQ9. Its has a higher compression than a LQ4 out of a HD. Same heads and cam.

I paid $200 less for mine, with lower miles. Not a terrible price, but I don't know what is available in CT, locally.

In general, there is nothing wrong with an LQ9. Most people would prefer to get their hands on one. Outside of the newer LQ4’s that also have the stronger rods and floating piston pins, the LQ9’s have always had them. The same goes with the coated piston skirts. Other than the items that are the same, which are most components, there is not a single part on an LQ9 that is less desirable than the LQ4, outside maybe compression if you were looking to boost the engine a decent amount. If it’s in good shape and you feel it’s a decent price, get it and be happy you did.

I paid nearly that for an LQ4 with 55k on it. LQ9/LQ4's are just hard to come by around here. People snap them up as soon as they hit the junkyard.
