Default Long tube headers=check engine light?

I have a 2008 gmc sierra 1500 6.0L that I just put long tube headers on. when i put them on i didnt plug any sensors back in the exhaust since i needed to take it to a muffler shop to connect to the rest of the exhaust. obviously driving just headers and no sensors threw a check engine code then once i got the entire system routed up again ( no catalytic converters but installed all 4 sensors in correct order) the truck started up with the check engine light on, so i took a battery terminal off and put it back on and the light turned off. Ive driven it about 150miles and just today the light when back on does anyone have an idea as to why? maybe the second set of sensors are programmed to test the exhaust after its been filtered, and now that i dont have cats its throwing a code?

You should throw that piece of garbage away and get a real tune.

+1. You'll see way more gain with a real tune, and they can turn your rear O2 sensors off which is why you're throwing a SES light.

Justin @ Blackbear is who did mine, and I love it, he also offers a first responder/volunteer Firefighter discount if you're either of those ... saved me like 45 bucks or something.

A real tune will allow you to get the rear 02 sensors "tuned" out. Which will get rid of the check engine light.

PLUS the tune will allow for more hp because handhelds are pieces of ****.

Should be throwing a O2 code because its not taking a reading.

+1,000,000.45 on the Real tune.
