I'm preparing to install the CD 278mm 3000 convertor, Hypertech 180 degree thermostadt and Dearle +2 qt. trans pan with temp. gauge in my '00 Silverado.

I already have the TransGo HD2 kit and Sonnax billet servos installed. Tires are 32" and gearing is 4.56. Trans is 4l60e.

Would I be better off to bypass the radiator all together or plumb the Tru Cool 40K in series with the return line to the trans?

If I bypass the radiator all together, There's no need to plug the trans cooling line in and out fittings @ the radiator?

I didn't really see where this was discussed, (I don't think), other than I recall someone said to just leave them open. If I wanted to plug them, what would I use?
Thanks for the feedback. I want to get this right.

I've decided to plumb the Tru Cool in series with the factory cooler on the return line. Which side of the radiator is the return line? Does anyone have the "short list" of fittings needed to accomplish this without altering the factory metal line? I plan to use high grade push lock hose and fittings along with the Dearle deep, (+2qt pan) and mechanical temp. gauge.

I can't remember for sure when I read the 40K install post, but does someone offer pre fabricated brackets to help simplify the cooler install?
Thanks, V1

Thanks.

Damn. Nice thread; subscribed. Any updates on GMT900s? I have an aux trans cooler and want to upgrade, and I'm looking for the most simple way to swap them (without using rubber hoses and clamps to tie to the stock hard lines and a board for a mounting bracket )

Bump..when bypassing the radiator, do you need to close up the holes left by not using the integrated cooler?

I would, for the sole reason that if you ever want to use it again, you will not need to worry about how much dirt and road grime has made it's way in there.
