Default New tranny question

Hey guys thinking about replacing my transmission with a stage 2 550 hp transmission the specs are in the description its going on a lifted 00 Silverado with a 212/218 low lift and im thinking about a 2800-200 circle d converter. What do you guys think? My plan is to get this and sell my original used tranny. Im pretty sure this is the best price compared to a custom build it comes with a 3yr unlimited mile labor and cost warranty.

No. FYI, the vast majority of his eBay feedback is from his purchases, not his sales.

BMR isn't doing the critical upgrades to support their power numbers. Even on their eBay page they say the transmission needs an input shaft swap to support over 450ft/lbs of torque. However if you check their mod lists for ANY of their unusually low priced transmissions, they conveniently leave out upgraded input, intermediate or output shafts.

Heck, their "Stage 5" 4L85E is rated for 1150HP/1150TQ with nary a shaft upgrade.

From the BMR site, these numbers should make you think twice:

package street/strip stage 3
700r4/4l60e/4l65e
750HP/750 TORQUE
Transmission,Core, and free Shipping
$1,795.00

From the FLT site, for the equivalent capability transmission:

4L65E / 4L70E Maximum Performance – Level 7
Price: $3,995.00 (with core exchange - more info »)

Seriously go 80e the first time. I've spent a **** load of cash on 3 60e's and I'm currently going 80e. If I would of went 80e the first time I would have a cam and at least a truetrac. Don't waste your time or money doing a "built" 60.

agreed, I had a FLT level 6 60E and yeah it lasted and took all the abuse I threw at it but once I swap my 6L with spray in it would be a time bomb.
Having been there done that I would just go 80E the first time

Is it hard to do a 4x4 80e swap I know motors but I can't do transmissions ha I was just going to buy this tranny then swap it straight over. I'm not looking into building a crazy strip truck my goal is 400 hp.

I just did the swap and it is pretty straight forward, some good write ups online that really help out
