Default Gen3 to gen 4

Hey all. Just had a couple questions hoping I could get answered. I've recently come into getting an L92 from a newer truck. And it will be going into my 98 rcsb (currently set for an lq9 with 6.2 heads/intake and comp cam) I had my harness made from current performance to run the lq9 and a 4L70 with my setup. But came across this 6.2 for a deal that I just couldn't pass on. From what I understand- crank reluctor will be swapped for a 24x. Not going with a converter box. I could use a front timing cover from an 05-06 ls2 along with a 3 bolt cam gear and timing set. Drill and tap the knock sensors holes to fit the gen 3 sensors and extend the wires. Now main question is: if I swap the ring on the crank. Will I still need to run a TCM? Or will my pcm tuned to run my 6.0/4L70 still control the tranny bolted with the gen4 Motor? Is there anything that I'm missing? Thanks !

I'm not sure about the computer. You need to have the valley cover for a GEN IV though.
