Cant find a correct PINION SEAL???? HELP
#1
so my wifes 2001 suburban blew the pinion bearing this weekend, long story short cant find a pinion seal for it? Carquest, advanced, napa, autozone, pepboys and oreilly all tell me its a 710506 seal. Problem is the 710506 has a bigger hole than my yoke. My shaft is 1.940" and this seal is 2.188" so it does not seal.
Anyone know why gm did this and what is hell is the right one??

Yes I have seen this many times. There are 2 different designed seals. One has a lip on the edge and the other is flat. Both with a different I/D. I would suggest going to your local dealer to get the right seal. Bring the old one if you have it.

thanks for help. my local driveshaft shop fond a seal from NATIONAL #2043.
dealer only sells updated yoke with seal, $150. Older yoke has been dropped!
I went the cheap route with just the seal!
