Help with procharger setup
hey guys, need a little help with my setup. i bought this truck last year for dirt cheap and have been trying to sort out all of its issues. its an 02 silverado ECSB 2wd with a 5.3 and a procharger D1SC making 12psi. the motor has been rebuilt with stock crank and rods with ARP bolts and has a set of custom wiesco pistons that dropped compression down to 8.5:1.still has stock heads, cam, intake and throttle body. all this was done by previous owner. the truck made 365rwhp through LT and a horrible 2.25inch exhaust. since ive owned it i put in a racetronix fuel system and hotwire, 60lb injectors, FLT lvl7 4l65e, yank pt3200, alky control meth kit and 3inch true duals with magnaflow xpipe and mufflers. what do think ill see on the dyno since my changes my goal for this truck is to run mid 12s id like to see about 450rwhp. Is this achievable with my current setup if not what should I change. Thanks

All of the mods you've done are definitely taking your truck in the right direction. I think your goals will definitely be obtainable. You may want to consider a cam swap as well.

thanks for the input, i wish the compression wasnt dropped so low it is a dog off of boost. do you think a custom grind cam might help with that? im leaning towards doing a cam swap next or should i throw on a tbss intake and ls2 throttle body?

dam that poor 5.3 needs some more compression. maybe think about working the heads and milling em' down a bit. at least to help you out when your out of boost...
like stated above, a cutom ground cam could do wonders for your goals..

The 8.5 is def low compression for that small boost level.. I say boost it up to 15lbs.. 450 seems to be a good guess, I think it should do close to that number.. Maybe find a set of 243 heads, have them milled to get you back to around 9.5 or so compression...

With the right tune, you'll nail mid 12's @ 12lbs.
Time to turn it up. You've got plenty of injectors and pump. Maybe add a 2nd Alky nozzle and crank up it to 16-18 lbs. You've got a solid foundation (minus a good centri cam) so your biggest problem will probably be belt slip.

Thanks the info on the heads I saw that the TF's had 58cc chambers which would help. I'm gonna do a leak down test this wknd. If it's good im gonna throw more boost at it and if not time to get a 6.0. Do you think I'll need a 2nd nozzle at 16lbs? I'm gonna pin the crank too who makes the best kit?
