exhaust pops when shifting...

Default exhaust pops when shifting...

over the last month or so my truck has started having a funny pop kinda sound in the exhaust when i shift form first and second. it mostly does like in a parking lot and stuff not going very fast. i dont notice it as much when im really getting on it. any help would be great thanks.


99 silverado 4.8 whipple 5speed and if i remember right the plugs (tr6) are not that old....

Check your plug wires.

will do but they cant be maybe 6 or 7 months old. ill just keep checking around and see if i find anything

do you have headers? If you do check to see if any of your wires are too close.

will it pop when you down shift and compression brake? could be a sneaky exhaust leak.

iv looked and checked everything i can think of doesn't do it when down shifting... im gonna change plugs and wires and see what that does

a guy might wanna check the plug wires with an omh meter, ive had wires that look perfect , but will not check out on the ohm meter just somethin to try
