Me and a buddy are in a debate about 5.3s
He swears up and down that no cam only 5.3s are making over 330hp. I know he's wrong because i've seen you guys make 340+hp on the 224/230 cams.
I wish i would've dyno'd my old truck so i wouldn't have to make this thread but I guess this thread could be useful to some as well.

Here's what i need...
5.3s (non HO) cam specs, bolt ons (LT's, CAI, etc) are okay but head work isn't.
If you guys have dyno sheets and vids lets see them.

I believe back in the day at one of our dyno events, scott and eric made over 330 with their 5.3s...

I showed him a vid of Garrison's truck making 341hp with a 224/230 cam but i didn't know the JG 5.3s were HO. Im not giving up though lol Im a dummy for never dynoing my truck when i had a chance

 

Scott made 325, idk what Eric made. He wants a dyno sheet/ Video though. There's too much hear say. I know im right, I just want to win this argument hahaha

Plus this thread will serve its purpose if the noobs ever search it up.

 

Do the HO have better heads or something?

 

I pretty sure the NA NNBS 5.3s hit 330+. Better heads, intake, more compression over the older 5.3s
