Default Undecided on cam selection for street/tow SUV 5.3LH6

Undecided on cam selection for street SUV 5.3LH6

This is a trailblazer that will be used primarily as a tow vehicle for my 3K LB boat (includes trailer).

What kindof power will these specs get me I just plan cam LTs w/ Y-pipe

LS1/2 Stage I Cam 223/230 .610"/.573" 115+2 made by comp cams

I could be using this cam for the DOD/AFM delete in 5.3LH6.

I’m planning a LS2 402CI build and think this would be a nice slethie cam to reuse.

1.power this cam makes w/ 5.3LH6 325ci
2.power this cam makes w/ 6.0LS2 402ci

I have a smaller spec’d cam in my WS6 it makes goobs of
Lowend torque just over idel.
Thanks for any good advice

That isnt a good tow cam for a 5.3 or 6.0. You should stay in the lower duration at mid 220s max exhaust and 214-220 max intake. Going more than that on an suv will take away the low range hp and tq. Youd want it cut on a 110-112 max. Any more wouldnt make good use of the intake and application.

218/223 .598/.571 112+3 will the power be off idel?

I'm thinking this is a torquie cam.

We have afm delete kits more complete for less $$ than btr and the cams are easier on the valvetrain.
If you want a cam like that, our high lift hot cam will make as much power as that one and be eaiser to tune and drive especially on a stock stall converter. We can save at least $30 + over most competitors. And everything is on hand.

You'd hate the LS9 cam, it is not made for a truck.

^ he is right its def not designed for a truck. The trucks have a max lsa even in stock form of 116. the ls9 cam has a 121. Def not designed for a truck and too much exh duration for a small engine.

it's my opinion that there isn't a cam that will perform at part throttle towing than a stock cam...you MIGHT gain 5hp/torque at part throttle. get a blower if you need more grunt.
