that's a good proven cam. a little on the big side for a towing tasked 5.3...perfect for a 6.0 intended for towing only. if towing is still the goal, i would drop the LSA to 110 or 112 with 4* advanced in for a 106-108 ICL. a lower LSA will make it sound tougher too if that's what you're after...

in the end, i still think you want a blower, and just don't realize it. i understand the DOD delete, and milling the heads, but wasting money on a cam and valvetrain for more towing performance is throwing money in the toilet.

as for the valve guides, your stockers are probably fine. how many miles on the motor?

this vehicle has a set of worn out nittos so the previous owner must have thought this car was fast and drove it so, I've only driven on the long drivway
seams strong even on 7.

towing is it's primary use however when I get to the desitation I want to cruise around a little w/out trailer. read back a few pages I'm planning on a LY6 w/L92 heads plan to use this cam in both 5.3 then later in the LY6 build.

I choose LAS114 to not attract unwanted attension from Johnielaw

still waiting for tuning advice.

at that mileage i wouldnt mess with valve guides unless you see an issue once you get it apart.

a few of our sponsors offer live tuning. check them out. if you're willing to purchase HPtuners, they can tune by e-mail and nail the tune down. or, you can buy a efi-live scanner for less $ and scan/upload tunes through e-mail as well. the 2nd option will not allow you to make your own changes...both of those options are better than a canned mail order tune.

where do you live?

The only reason to change to a wider lsa on a supercharger is to combat overlap. even on a 112 that cam has a good amt of negative overlap.
