Default 454 crate motor oil filter removal!!! stuck!

Well spent 2 hours on trying to remove an oil filter off of my friends 454 in his 65 impala only to make a huge mess. I first tried the oil filter channel locks getting no where an knocking a hole in the bottom creating a mess! Next I tried the ole driving a screw driver threw the side, this didn't work just ripped a massive hole in the side as I tried to break it loose. An last I tried one of those metal band style filter wrenches, no luck. So I got pissed off an left it. I have never had one like this ,I'm pretty pissed off now. I guess next thing I'm going to try is tin snip the whole bottom off an use a punch an hammer in attempt to spin the remains off.
They must have tightened the hell outta this thing from the factory.
Any of you guys have an tips or tricks???

Band style filter wrench is your only option. You just have to keep working it.

They probably didn't put oil or grease on the seal. I've poked through em with a screwdriver and used it as a handle

Jesus man... you've mangled that thing. There's not going to much left to grab onto, the only thing that you may be able to do is go through with your plan with the tin snips and try to use a chisel and hammer to get it to break loose. G'luck
