HD front clip on 99 rcsb
#1
Does anyone know of or have a complete detailed write up or description on what all needs to be done to do the HD front end swap on a 99 rcsb Silverado, and what needs to be done to the bumper mounts etc... Thanks in advance

^Exactly what George said^
Pretty straight forward, assuming you have the Bumper with the HD top pad, grill, and hood of course. Have some pictures on my build thread if you want to check it out https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-build-541410/

You'll need to cut the frame horns off and weld them back on about 1 1/2 inches down from where they used to be. It depends on the truck, I only moved mine about 1 1/4. You can either cut the two top bolts down, or I drilled a hole in the top of each frame rail before I welded the horns back on, because in its new location the bolts are too long. For the support bars on each side I removed the bottom bolts and loosened the rest. I pulled them down until the holes in the bumper bracket lined up and tightened it all down. I've seen where people weld an extra tab on the bars but this just seemed like an easier way. You will also have to notch the core support under each turn signal.

Here is a link to a write up for a visual reference. I did the swap two months ago. Only dropped the brackets 1 1/4 to keep the gaps close.
