If ya gonna do it may as well stand them up correctly, also keep them as far apart as possible for leverage control

Pics are in my build thread amd i used 1 5/8 tube
i just looked it up it looks good, thanks for the tips, question: why do i want the bar as high as possible? why cant i cut a hole on each side of the frame and weld it it like the stock crossmember is?

What your saying makes me think, if i dail it in exacly how it needs to be with the 2/4 drop i have now and decide to go lower later it will change the degree of the shocks

You want the longest shock possible...you want 5"+ of travel

Short shocks **** ya with a caltrac setup...extension is key...so set shocks up with 1.5-2" of remainding compression and rest extension

Example my shocks are 24.5" long and roughly 5" drop in rear

If it is directly above it, no. If its offset, then yes the angle will change. That's probably why George said as high as possible, to give you the most flexibility with the angles and placement. Its also easier to fit a shock given a larger space vs a smaller space.

After everything installed shocks came out at 5 degrees

Question i have is why does everybody weld the crossmember like this and not laying on the frame like i did? i measured under my bed and i have the room for it, dont u want it as high as possible?
