Well i wanted tp update my tiresize in hptuners and measured the circumference of the new tires making a mark on the bottom dead center of the tire and on the ground, then rolled it 1 revolution and made a mark on the ground again. For some reason i did it on both new tires and found out one tire is bigger then the other (on the truck same psi)
86.5/3.146= 27.49
85.93/3.146= 27.31
Just to test i took measurments of the Micket Thompson Radials Pro that i just took off with 75% of life and there different aswell (not mounted on wheels)
85.37/3.146=27.13
85.87/3.146=27.29
Is this a commun thing or do i just really have 2 pair of defective tires?
There is variation in all tires, but I would call 0.6% difference pretty negligible. Keep in mind the slicks will grow with speed also, which is kind of cool.
Jegs:
Yes the difference is normal. We also make sure we ship out a pair to be within 1/2" which yours are at only .18 difference.
Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Bias ply tires unfortunately are not an exact science. First I would get a small tape measure and measure the center of each tire. That’s the best way to see exactly what size the tire is. Make sure you set the pressures the same before doing so. If there is still one shorter than the other try this…..What you might do is to air the shorter tire up to 20psi and leave it sit for a couple hrs or so. Then drop it down to whatever air pressure the other tire is……….wait a few minutes then measure the circumference (center of both tires) and see what you have. That in most cases will get both tires closer together.
Yeah, we deal with bias ply tires all the time with the stock car stuff. You can make them grow with tire pressure. But they are right, set them and forget them. They are close enough it won't matter.
What a weekend! We had a national bracket event at out local track, 200+ cars, we started qualifing saturday from 1pm and left the track sunday 4:30am (15.5 hours strait) didnt take the W home but went some rounds and had fun
Being consistent was what i was after so all i changed from the last time out running 11.99 was tires and added 3 degrees of timing (from 9 to 12)
Off the trailer i broke all my own records, 60', MPH and ET, leaving at 5psi, 14-15psi, 12 degress of timing, 91oct pump gas, 50/50 meth, 7400DA
Big improvment from radials to slicks, best 60' of the weekend was a 1.67
