slap a running motor in it just so it moves.

Pull the 408 and do what you described on it. I would replace the mahle with a different brand. I don't think they are intended for what you're doing with them.

You may want to consider having tops of the new pistons coated as well.

Ya that's why I was gonna do it as well as possibly switch to a beefier Carrillo billet rod. It just has compstars in it most likely be ok. Will go as far as the block can, I've also considered pulling the tfs heads and drop ls3 heads on the 408 with a new piston. And play and start a dart motor build for the compound boost setup. I just think it's gonna lift heads a lot if I proceed with the lq4 block.

The lower manifold from what I can tell matches very nice to the ports and really doesn't look to be much if any gain from doing the lower manifold. So it was left alone. I need to look closer at the Lower manifold I ordered the bolts to mount the blower to the heads yesterday, as well as the steam vent lines because the oe unit from the truck won't fit.. Also a 07+ gm truck waterpump is required to clear the discharge actuator.. ***Also a heads up*** the actuator if your blower did not come with one... New ones can be purchased from gm, there is a special tool that comes with gm actuator in the box that will help you set the actuator correctly.
I was just reading through your build from day one. I am seriously contemplating a 5.3 lsa build. Is the 100hp in addition to the 100-150hp that the lsa adds? Sorry if you have already answered this question, and I havent seen it yet.

I dunno I haven't done back to back testing. Seems pretty generous to me. Honestly don't have an answer, just what I was told.

Well finally have some parts coming in soon here's a couple pics. I've been waiting on my turbo, and hot side since February 2015. It features sinister Racecraft crossover and log manifold with dual 44mm gates, s488etr-ho with a v2 racecover and I went with the 96mm exhaust, and 1.58ar exhaust housing. I've decided to pull the heads and have Frankenstein fix and do a different Cnc program on em. I'll probly drop a new piston in or possibly get a set of wiseco pistons in. Also I'll switch to an inconnel exhaust valve at the same time.

I may make two of them.. We will see depends how much I race. I'm limited to a 4"dp and keep ac. But I may cut my stock hood for a hood exit for racing 5" they said it really cuts down on power output running 4" but I'll try it and see what it does.

Nah you wont notice any power difference with 4" vs 5". 5" will spool a little better though. Are you still planning on doing the compound setup? If so I would have gone to a bigger turbo...
