I used to race a Camaro which had all Bmr everything under it and could make that hook no problem almost anywhere.. Leaf springs and assassin bars are totally new to me.. Believe it or not this was a huge improvement already, and I kinda think a different set of springs and shocks are needed to get the front up
You want the truck to lift up and plant the rear. Need rear shocks with more extension. And for drag racing if your lower shock mount is adjustable, you can raise the shock up to get extra extension. I've been doing a ton of reading on this stuff.

It has a ton of extension front and rear! The front has almost 12" it can raise, and the ear has almost 8" or so.. I'm no where near topping it out on the hit. I did tighten the front adjustment all the way on the shocks, and the rears are two clicks back it seems to be hook in on the street. And been driving around preloaded lol some ricer tried to play that didn't end well for him.

They weren't preping was a streetcar test and tune, it seemed like it would bog too after I released the brake. I think we're gonna have to change the tune up.. When it's on the two step I think it goes rich you can see it on the wideband. We're probly gonna have to command it in open loop I think. It still may bog n/a, I'm pretty much ready to put the blower on just waiting for fuel system parts to come in.. And the spacers I'll probly park it for now.

Here is my rear suspension.

I just need to get some DA shocks. I have been looking at some afcos.

Rear axle flip.
Lower leaf spring mount dropped 2in
Assassin bars
1in rear sway bar
All poly bushings in leaf and shackle
Shocks relocated.

One thing to note i have since adding diagonal braces to the shock mounts because i bent them. The deflected about 15* inward on the passenger side and about 10* outward on the drivers side. Those brackets are about 1/4 thick sooo alot of stress going on back there.

I got my parts from here.

Adjustable Shock Mount Housing Bracket with 1 1/2" radius
Bolt-on Shock Mount Bracket - Left Hand
Bolt-on Shock Mount Bracket - Right Hand

I dont have any pics handy on the rear sway bar but i can get some if you want.

I bet double adjustable shocks would def help, at the moment I think I'm gonna get the blower on, and see what happens from there. Leaf springs aren't really my thing and I've been considering going ladder bar and and moving weight around on the truck.. Basically anything that is heavy enough to matter will get moved to the bed. Or if it's not needed it may get deleted lol and I'm gonna be shopping for cages too..

What was the point of the axle flip? Just wondering and ya I'd like to see the sway bar when ya get time.. Never mind it was in the last pic. That's similar to the setup I did on a mustang from white line.. What about the notch I'm gonna redo mine I think when the box is off and box the frame in mine looks like a guy welded sewer pipe in it cut in half

From what i read it gives you better driveline angles and more adjustability out of the assassin bars. Making adjusting the instant center better. I can make my bars flat, tilted forward or tilted backwards.

Way back when i was researching suspension stuff the guys hooking the best had axle flips.

My notch is bolted and and welded all the way around. I would have boxed mine but i was lazy and too damn tired when i was doing all of that.

One more thing about the axle flip. Before i had drop hangers. Like you i had tons of shims under it. It got to the point i was raising the rear to get the right angle. With the flip i just bought new perches and set my angle exactly where i wanted and welded it.

Here are some better pics. I welded a spring perch to the axle tube to mount the bar then i made another bracket to attach the end links. Which is tied into the shock mount bar

So what did you do with the assassin perch that wraps around the axle how does it attach just cut it flat?
