New Wheels.

Dropped the block off at the machine shop today. Going to get cam bearings, crank polished and cylinders honed.

I still need to order rings, rod and main bearings. Where are you guys getting bearings at? What brand?

Also need ARP Rod bolts and want manifold studs but cant find any.

Any help would be appreciated!

Holy crap, thought that was a typo and never heard of them.... but just searched it out and yeah, stainless exhaust studs for $24!?
Is this what you use?
Isn't the stainless too brittle to support turbo weight?

I know you can get studs from GM too, I think for a 3400 v6 application... but definitely not gonna be as cheap as $24!

Oh and if you do the ARP rod bolts you better hand your rods to your machinist with your block and crank to have them resized... or get Katech rod bolts.

I use them now. My ARPs were worn out after flanges warping. The allen size on the alper ones are much bigger, however, I like the arp washers and nuts better. The ARPs are also stainless.

Quoted from Stock48, about rod bearings..."I run factory GM or Fedral mogul 2555 A's in all of my factory crank LS builds. The kings look really similar but have not tried them yet. Wouldn't surprise me if they are all made in same factory. The GM bearings tend to be a little tighter."

Well the crank didnt look very good either. Needs polished at a minimum. I am kind of getting hesitant to assemble this engine myself. I am thinking of just having the machine shop build it with forged pistons and rods and shooting for 900+hp.. This bw480 get me there?
