Thanks to the help of Jake(Smokeshow) and (Michael)GMCtrk, the trans is in. Had a few issues with the starter. and we cracked a spark plug and had to make a quick run to autozone. got the new plug in and it fired up and ran smooth. took it out for a little test drive and man its nice. Didnt want to get on it too much, until the trans is broken in. It flash stalls right around 3700-3800. Gonna have to get a retune and get to the track.

so a few questions for the experts...

1) Head bolts? Stock, ARP bolts, or studs

2) Head Gaskets? GM MLS 6.0L or LS9

3) Timing chain? truck has 75k and has be taken wot quite a few times.

4) Rocker arms? stock, stock with trunion upgrade, or get some studs for my HS rockers

Anything else I should look into?

300, also sold my old Rockford Fosgate R1 subs and amps for 125, Only thing Im undecided on is the head gaskets. I dont know when Im off again. they are switching my work schedule, working 4 days then get 2 off, so I will rarely have weekends off. Going to try and take some leave at the end of next month. maybe then. Ill let you know.

stock 6.0 head gaskets, although I thought I heard you mention a procharger, so I guess the LS9's wouldn't hurt if you want to spend the money on them. You'd need to see what the different in compressed thickness is though.

6.0L head gasket: 4.02" bore .051 thickness
LS9 head gasket: 4.100" bore .051 thickness. so its about the same.
