I'm still really impressed and intrigued by the alum front suspension parts.

Well the truck is back on all four and the aluminum suspension swap is complete. Got the lower a arms today so put it all together. Everything bolts up just fine exactly like the GMT-900 stuff the only thing that i have to check into is the ball joint that the steering linkage uses to connect to the spindle. Seems like the aluminum spindle uses a bigger joint even for that. If so shouldn't be an issue I'll just get the steering tie rods from the new trucks and swap those too. Anyways got it back together and back on the ground. Now to get the turbo system finished. Don't mind the tow hook I only have one bolt holding it so its loose.

Is it the pic or does it look like the engine sits really high in these trucks compared to the previous body style (like mine)?

Good work btw

Not sure does look like it sits pretty high when the front end is off but it's also missing the front differential so might be why it looks like it has a lot of room. Think it sits about the same as a nbs truck. Also the new accessory bracket sits higher so might also be why it looks like the motor is higher.

What was the weight saving on the aluminum over the steel?

Well front end is back on, getting some more parts today like the double steering joint and power steering pump so now I can finish the hot sides. Had to wait for these parts since the driver side header runs around them so just to not have any clearance issues I just waited. The turbos will be mounted a little higher about 2 inches and about 2 inches further back then where they are now, but gives you an idea how they will sit. This will also let the lower turbo outlet clear the core support so I won't have to cut it for clearance. The lower turbo will be more up on the grille so will be more visible then how it is now.
