hey everyone got my truetrac installed today, first time ever doing it took bout 2.5 hours an was a piece of cake no whining or anything got lucky

 

well, have you tested it yet?

 

whats all involved on that?? Been thinking about doing it..

 

i have a question since the topic popped up.

If im just putting in a locker in my open diff and not changing gears cant i just pull the old unit out and put the new one in using all the old shims and ring gear. i have new bolts and bearings. i assume i wouldnt have to adjust anything since im not pulling the pinion out.

 

IF you get lucky and everything still mesh's good, then yes. But I recommend, ALWAYS paint the gears to check the mesh.

 

He probobly has not since you have to drive a few hundred miles like grandma and then change the fluid to break it in.

 

^ I would fail miserably at that whole "break-in" thingy lol the temptation would be too much

**** i pulled outta the shop an gave her hell an did a couple burnouts an pushing 400hp an haavent had a problem yet

 

don't forget to change the gear OIL
