Default LS3 Intake and heads on an LS2

I have an 08 awd trailblazer ss , I have been reading alot and searching quite a bit trying to find info on the L92 heads and LS3 Intake on a stock LS2 motor that is in my tbss .

I have contacted a very reputable shop that says No problem on removing my stock heads, stock intake and cam and installing the L92 heads milled so comp comes back up to 11:1 portmatching the heads and porting and polishing the intake and heads and adding this peticular cam spec 227/239 .678/.688 w 1.8 rocker 114 CL ....they also said they will be changing the intake valves out to a hollow stem intake valve and they are leaving the exhaust valves stock ...they will also be changing the springs over to a comp cams spring kit with the titanium retainers .

The reason I was going to go with this setup is , I can get the ls3 intake and heads off a new vette from a buddy of mine that owns a salvage yard and he is a LSX performance nut . The Vette had 1800 miles on it . I talked to a very reputable performance shop and they said that this setup would work fantastic and they have done several of these exact setups on tbss .

I was just looking to get some feedback from my fellow enthusiast on how this sounds to you guy's , the tbss will also get 17/8" LT headers...electric ls1 fans, 3600 stall converter , it already has a RPM Level V1 trans w/shift kit .

I am not sure if it is possible to get this brick in the 12.30's or so ....I have seen other awd tbss's that have just bolton stuff and with a sea level DA they are running in the 12.50's &12.60's what do you guy's think ?

Sounds like a good setup to me, theirs no reason for the 1.8 rockers though. With the converter and headers, I see know reason you can't hit low 12's.. Who's tuning it though?

Why not just do the whole built LS3?

It is a shop here in Indianapolis that has a great name in the corvette arena .

It is a matter of $$ , that is the only reason I am not doing the whole LS3

The heads being from an LS3 equipped Vette, you can save a little cash on having the shop swap out the intake valves as they are already hollow stem pieces. I know you started the thread out by saying L92's and maybe that’s where the shop got the idea as well, however you should be good to go. I also agree that there is no need to swap to 1.8's and torture the valve-springs in your case. If you do anything with the rockers; I would have Harland Sharp replace the trunnion bearings as the stock rockers can spit the bearings, but it seems to be especially exaggerated by the offset rockers on the intake side.

valves should already be hollow if heads are from a vette and 1.8 rockers not necessary. will be an awesome setup

Man am I glad to hear some good feedback ...I should be getting this 5000 lb boat back from the builder and tuner next weekend and i cannot tell you how excited i am to see how this is going to work... One thing that I am very happy about is getting rid of that intake manifold that comes stock on the tbss LS2 .... I will definitely get her on a awd dyno and see what type of increases over stock we are looking at . Baseline was approx 310 awhp and 314 awtq . The builder has told me that we will end up with atleast 525-550 crank hp which should put me around the 440 awhp and 420 awtq ......
I will be happy if this boat will run in the mid 12's consecutively without any weight reduction .....

This is an excellent setup as my L92 heads after being ported flowed 358@.700 and 286@.475. I used a LS3 intake from Hennessey Motor Sports that was on e-bay from there LS3 Camaro buildups. Mine is going in a Miata and ddriven on the street so I backed off on the Comp Cam.
