Default 05 ccsb help very very slow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello! Im new to the site and have been reading a good bit. i have an 05 crew cab with a lm7 cat less with magnaflow muffler and it is very slow, trying to decide what to do first. i was wondering what would be a good cam ,head, gears and stall for such a heavy truck? ive looked at the stage 2 5.3 head. whats different about those from the 706 beside larger valves. could i just get larger valves and heaver springs and a 3angle valve job and mill to the 706's how would that compare to stage 2 5.3's? the rpo says that the truck has a g80 but i have no posi. any ideas on what the problem could be with that? gears. i was thinking about 3.90 or 3.73. i dont see many people running 3.90. how do they compare to 3.73? i would like to put a shift kit in also to firm up my shifts any suggestions? im thinking about a yank 3000 stall converter will that be good for a dd? also wanted a factory joe gibbs supercharger set up of the trucks any idea where i can find a used one? thanks in advanced

Personally, I would supercharge the truck and finish all the bolt on mods with a good custom tune and then see what else you want to do. The setup most have gone with for excellent results are a Magnacharger mp112 or the new TVS 1900 and the GT2-3 camshaft.

Can't remember off hand if you have electric fans or not but if not...you can put those on your to do list as well but I believe 05 is when they started factory e-fans.

For my Crew Cab, I'm just wanted to get a Magnacharger to more humph towing and making the truck move a little bit easier but I will still retain my 3.23s for better mpg on the hwy since my truck is driven 90% of the time to work about 60-70mph.

I agree. The magnacharger on an all stock set-up is a great kick in the ***. there are several 112's on sale here for cheap.

A used maggie would be ideal for your situation and cost about the same as the heads/cam/gears you are considering. Down the road, any of those additions will only make the Maggie even better.

i'd start with cam, gears, tune. Cheaper than a supercharger. unless you can afford one, But then you'll need a transmission too.

Really depends on how big the cam is and if your heads are milled for more compression or less (for boost). But a good average is about 50-70hp with cam and heads depending on size, etc.
