C7 intake manifold on my 5.3
#1
so i got a C7 intake manifold mocked up on my truck. looks good lines up the ports and bolt holes. need a 6.2 throttle body which i got off a new 6.2 truck. going to have to change a couple things to make it work, they are all simple, once i get it on i will let you all know. should be this week hopefully before test and tune on friday. gotta have the tuner there ready to re calibrate it for the new throttlebody and stuff. heres some pics of the mock up

A: why?
B: looks in the first pic like getting a tube on the tb might be pretty tight, can't wait to see more pics of this once it's done. whats different on the 6.2 tb vs the 5.3?

Got a C7 intake manifold arriving today to fit on my 6.2 also. I'll do some cleaning up on the ports before install. I think the inlet in angled down on the LT1 vs. straight horizontal on the L86. May require a custom intake tube or some modifications.
Note: The LT1 comes with a insulator (heat shield) sandwiched between the intake manifold and the engine cover. Good to have that also to keep that internal air cool as possible.

typhoon, could you post some pics of the manifold top and bottom and the shield you're talking about?
where are you guys getting these things from? I might be in the market for one if y'all find some power with them. I'm thinking some sort of billet "coupler" for the tb would be cool, basically it would bolt to the tb flange on the manifold and raise up to the stock(ish) location for clearance.

after looking around a little the inlet is def. pointing down quite a bit, not to mention the overall height difference. an adapter would clean it up and make it "cool" for sure and may be required period.
the C7 throttle body appears to have a little bit of offset (back upwards) built in to it as well, maybe getting one of those to go with the manifold would help.
