i wish i could post pictures but im forbidden from it . i have physically seen what gm is doing with direct injection on the lsx motor . i saw only heads but they were pretty wild , they had what looked like two intake runners one on top of each other . one was the actual runner which was huge , biggest i have seen yet . the other was for the injector. there is a small pilot hole near the spark plug threads which was tiny and could have been used for a probe or o2 sensor . as soon as i get the ok to post i will .

I saw an Ecoboost F150 at the track alst saturday. He said he had full exhaust with 4" down pipe, some kind of tuner, and I want to say CAI. He was running 14.4's.

With that Livernois tune, catback only exhaust and a useless Air raid CAI, one guy is posting 13.69 with a 4X4 extended cab with 3.55's. It's a new thread on a big Ford forum. That tune is relatively new and probably the first semi "real" tune for the Ecoboost. By this summer I imagine there will be a whole pool of Ecoboost trucks to pick from for comparison.

Yup seen a few in Dallas raceway tuned hitting high to mid 14s I have seen a tuned RCSB 5.0 hit 13.60s with a 5star tune ARH and I think 3:73 gears

13.69 is fast and if it has a real tune unlike the plug n play ones I can see hitting 13s but I wonder what the limits are in the stock turbo? And the limit on stock bottom end?

When I was at the track last fall I ran a best of 15.44@89.5 when a bone stock Ecoboost CCSB 4x4 ran best of 14.92@91.5. I had removed the tailgate and rear seats, his had no weight reduction at all.

I think the turbos will probably be the limiting factor..... unless of course the engine is an epic fail, lol. They have to be relatively small to bring the boost in as early as they do and make the low end power the engines make. The engine is still relatively new to the mod world, even though it's been in the Lincoln lineup since 2009. Either way time will tell. I would think that a downpipe, exhaust, and tuning should make for some impressive numbers even otherwise stock. I mean forced induction is forced induction... And if that tuning I mentioned before is good for anything...... well there you have it so to speak.

I might buy one in 3 or 4 years when I can get a 11/12 for like $15K and see. Should be plenty of aftermarket by then and enough time on the market to see what kinds of problems they really have.
