The ZR1/ZL1/CTS-V/LS9 map sensor is a 3 bar with known data for tuning. Two pins have to be swapped on the connector though, not anything hard. Linear is 312.50 and -11.25 is the offset.
To make one comment on the previous post. I'm sure you know that power enrichment is still used in speed density as well as a boost enrichment table if you choose to populate it. You'll just be picking a commanded value for PE or BE and using the VE to reach that target. If the wideband is wired straight into the HP Tuners unit, it makes creating a wideband error against the commanded AFR really easy. Even if that is not an option you can just wire the wideband into the EGR circuit on the computer and create a custom channel to log the wideband that way.
Thank you I appreciate the input. I have the hptuners standard unit not the pro. I will wire in the wideband to the egr. As far as power enrichment I have read a little bit about the boost enrichment but didn’t fully grasp it to be honest. This will be my first time tuning a turbo gm. I clearly have allot more reading up to do but I thank you for being helpful.
Got my new black housing headlights today and swapped them on. Overall they look allot better but being non oem there was a few fitment issues as expected. They wanted to sit further out from the fenders then I wanted but overall I’m happy with them for the $190 bucks they cost. Took about 10 minutes to get each to sit how I wanted so not a huge deal. Took much longer to snake the stiff hid ballast wire out of the Old headlights and into the new ones. Stock headlights are for sale if anyone needs them. They are hazed but no broken tabs or cracks in them.
Started fitting up the blow off valve to the turbo today, it seems like a funny spot to put it but the closer to the turbo the better it will work, stock srt4 turbos come this way and those cars blow off in reverse backing out of a parking spot lol. Upon further inspection of my turbo I notice the compressor cover had a crack in it, looks like fedex was playing basketball with the box so I sent the seller an email and got this response 😂😂 lol. I was dying when I read it, not a huge deal my buddy who has a tig will just weld it up.
Got some elmers glue for the turbo should work good since manager said so. Actually dropped it off with my buddy tony to weld the bov flange onto it and weld the housing. Also swapped on my belltech sway bars yesterday. They definitely tightened the truck up allot. Got rid of all the side to side rocking from hitting a bump on one side and it corners allot more flat now. Planning on taking a little trip to the coast next week so I’ll get to test it on the curvy roads out that way. Also I went out to a new junkyard in Sherwood Oregon looking for a 4l80e, they had an older one in a 3500 Chevy van but I’m gonna wait for a 00+ one for my truck to avoid any complications. They sell Tranny’s for $220 with a 13 month warranty for any transmission so that’s a pretty sweet deal. I was able to get a flex plate off a 4.8 van there that had a 4l80 on it at on it at one point.
I didn’t take any pics cause my hands were pretty filthy the whole time. The stock bars are about the same diameter but the belltechs are solid not hollow bars. They also come with nice bushings all around besides the rear sway link bushings which I already had energy suspension bushings on. They were a definitely noticeable improvement from just the energy bushings on the stock bars and the energy suspension bushings were a huge improvement from the stock bushings. The belltech bars make the truck feel allot tighter like a new vehicle I just wish they weren’t so damn expensive. Oh well, only gotta buy them once. On my wj grand Cherokee I found an addco 1” rear sway bar for $120 new vs the stock like 18mm rear sway and it was a day and night difference. From my junkyard explorations it looks like all the gmt800 sway bars from Tahoe/ suburban/ Yukon and Escalade are all the same bar and same size, too bad gm didn’t put some beefy ones on the suburban or Yukon xl we could just swap on and save a bunch of money.
