So you're kinda right but not quite. While there are no bolt in OE upgrades, if you're willing to weld new tabs the H2 bar is 1.250" dia and bolts to your axle. It however doesn't line up with the frame side tabs, so you need H2 bar, some tabs, H2 end links and a welder.
New they are $100. After it's all said and done, it might not be worth it over the aftermarket stuff
Haven’t seen any h2’s in the junk yard yet but that’s good to know. Got a welder so that’s not a problem. I’m happy with the belltech bars so far though the truck feels allot tighter and newer and that’s what I was hoping for.
Yeah for you it's not worth it at this point, but for other readers it may be up their alley. I was wrong about the diameter, it's 28mm or basically 1.125"
Every time Ive seen H2 parts come up its because there are IIRC two specialty yards that are buying them all up. I've never seen an H2 at an average yard.
You seem like the kind of person that might be interested, but some of that interior fits in the NBS. If you wanted to change it from a column to a console shift. Theres some other stuff, but I don't recall. You seem like you have plans and the skills to pull it off if you so choose.
Spent the little bit of down time I had today swapping over to e-fans. I need to wire the ecu triggers into relays tomorrow. The truck feels a good bit snappier and there’s a ton more room for activities. Should make running my charge pipes super easy. I still need to do some more reading up on what to do fuel pump wise if I should find a pump I can throw in with the returnless setup or change over to return style rails. In the mean time I’m gonna get the intercooler mounted up and start building the charge pipes to get that out of the way.
The electric fans are working great. Went up to Portland today and picked up one of my “dream” trucks. It was actually the first car I’ve ever owned, 2000 s10, stepside regular cab. Truck needed a fender, tailgate, grill and headlights. I got everything but the headlights today from pick a part for $150 which was a steal because the stepside tailgates are pretty hard to find. The truck will eventually get either a l33 or ls1 and t56 put in it. Gonna drive the 4 banger around as a daily/ parts getter for now as I fix small stuff and get the suspension and brakes ready for the swap. This truck is exactly what I wanted when I went to go drive that 5 speed v6 blazer but the blazer just felt off. This truck feels nice and tight, sporty even despite the lack of power.
started cleaning up the casting on this turbo manifold today since it’s way too cold to be out in my shop right now without heat. Kinda crazy how poor the casting is inside. About .25” of flashing hanging down in all the runners. Still have a very long way to go. I’ll post some pictures up once it’s finished.
Long term id like to ls swap it with a t56, nothing crazy just a simple naturally aspirated build. In the mean time I lowered it with a 3/4 drop, still wanna do 2” drop spindles up front, did blazer 4dr sway bars on it, threw some bmw type 157 wheels on it 17x8. For performance I put a header and welded up exhaust for it and put an aisin amr500 supercharger on it. Its only making between 3-5lbs right now but I ordered up a smaller pulley for it that should get me about 8lbs of boost, it might make similar horsepower to the tire as what a stock 4.3l makes just with better fuel economy and some cool noises.
as for the Escalade I’ve been slacking on it. I’m building a twin turbo setup on a ls swapped Datsun 260z right now so I’ve put the Escalade on the back burner. I did go ever just replace the radiator with a new one and put new oil cooler lines on it so it doesn’t have any leaks at all right now.
