I'd say the S10 is probably a much more fun and has more potential to be even faster than the Dadillac would be so that's probably a good choice. If you want to put the OEM sway bars back on and sell those Beltechs let me know.

I actually think the draw is the OE headunit. Ive seen it on my Buick and C5 as well as a friends C5 and another friends 2500 Sub.

Pull the radio fuse and see if the draw goes away

The S10 is a blast to drive. Can’t wait for some better weather to go out and learn how to drive it well. Everyone bitches about the nv3500’s not shifting good but this tranny shifts just like my nv1500 did. I think the big issue with them is they are a nightmare to bleed so you end up with the clutch not disengaging till your at the floor. Mine shifts like butter at 1/4 clutch depressed.

I’ll try the radio fuse and see what happens, I tested all the fuses when I was looking for the draw and the pid/dic was the one drawing the most, the other was hvac I believe but it was like .2 amps which doesn’t worry me as much. All others were 0.

and I paid way to much for those sway bars lol. Like $460 I think. They are staying on the truck, it feels really good with them on it.

I dont know of anything in the cluster than can sustain 1.1 amps without melting, but you might be proving me wrong shortly!

So I’m pretty stoked but I think I got the electrical draw fixed since I put a new stepper motor in for the volt gauge. The Escalade is gonna be getting a make over again. My plans are to finally finish the sideskirt on the drivers side, detail it fully. I also picked up some stock 17” escalade wheels for it today for $60 that I’m gonna strip down and paint the wheels themselves satin black and leave the center caps aluminum looking to kind of give it the ppv look. I think I’m gonna go with a 275-60-17 instead of the stock 265-70-17 size which will be a little shorter and a little wider then measure how much I can push them out and order 4 wheel spacers to make them sit pretty flush. I decided the s10 is now the “race” truck so this is gonna get revamped a bit more as a comfy daily. The 285/35/22’s on it right now just ride a little harsh plus one is bent and I can’t seem to find a replacement for it so I’ll get those posted up for sale once the new wheel setup is on it. I found a big scotch brite wheel for my angle grinder that does a killer job of taking off the oxidation on them and the clear so the fresh paint should lay out really nice.

finally got some new tires on the Escalade. I couldn’t stand the 285/35/22’s on it anymore and went to a 305/40/22 instead. Once I got the new tires on I realized the driver side rear was almost 2” higher then the passenger side. Tried swapping the springs from side to side, that made no difference so I ended up cutting 2 coils out of the driver side rear spring and that leveled it most of the way out. Also after I took these pictures I played around a bit with adjusting the front torsion bolts and got the front leveled out so it sits much more even now. I also ordered some 1/4” spacers to put on it just to help it be a little more flush. Didn’t wanna step up to a bolt on style spacer and have them way pushed out or have to cut the lug studs down to fit them. It rides much nicer and looks allot better rolling now. I have been thinking a little bit about trying to trade the Escalade in on a trailblazer Ss but I don’t think anyone would give me what the truck is worth to me since it just hit 245k even though it still runs as good as a new truck would.

Yeah, I was pricing out tires and the 275/60/17’s would have been just as much if not more then 305/40/22’s were. I ended up painting the 17’s then thew then on a parts tahoe I bought to keep it as a roller and sell the tahoe wheels since they had good rubber on them.

makes sense... and i feel ya on tires for 17s. we bought my wife an H3 last fall, and it had some wore-out 33s on 17" wheels (vs the stock 16s). i went in expecting the same tire prices as my 33s on 16s - OHHHH, NO No no, my friends!
figured while we were splurging, we went up another inch & got 34s (285/75-17s). they fill the wheel wells much better & will come in handy when we move to SD & have all the driving trails to hit.

Yeah kinda crazy how cheap 22” tires have gotten. Here’s a better picture of how she’s sitting right now. Overall I’m happy with the stance of the truck. I’m just gonna do a few cosmetic upgrades to the truck and try to keep it clean and enjoy it as a reliable daily. I think I need to just stick to building ls s10’s for my fun go fast trucks since they are soo much lighter they just have much more potential then trying to build something heavy.
