Differences between early (99-02/03) and up trucks

let me steer us back in the right direction.. lmao. I solved my issue of lack of space by relocating the radiator, and ac condensor rearwards about 2-3". had a ton of room for my tru cool and and 4" interooler core no problem. can upload pics when i get home if anyone cares lol

I shortened my post so it's easier to understand and took out all the talk about the F body stuff, seems you're missing that I mentioned several times that I did it on trucks too.
On the trucks, I can't remember for sure since I haven't done one in a while but I don't think any of the belts were new when I did the 145. None were cheap junk belts though, we don't put cheap junk belts on. It's possible the belt was stretched a little and that helped. I'll have to try the new short belt on the 145 amp some day just for *****. I prefer the short though, so I always use it. Helps when you have high revs and fast shifts.

Thanks for the update. Not sure why mine worked out..? But if you run the longer belt you are running the right belt for the alternator, and to be clear to everyone I wasn't recommending against running the longer belt, just said it worked out for me and I had zero issues so I personally had no reason to change the belt. My belt must have been stretched more than other peoples is my only guess. It was a good quality gates belt but it came on the truck when I bought it from a car lot used, no telling how old it was.

So to combat my issue of the intercooler not fitting I ended up moving the radiator and condenser about 2” rearward giving me tons off room for the tru cool and intercooler without having to cut my grill or anything.
