Default Thorley header port pictures?

I hear a bit how the thorley headers ports don't "line up just right". I was wondering if anyone had some pics of the thorley ports with perhaps an oem exhaust manifold gasket laid over them to show how they lined up?

It's not that they do not line up, it's that the ovals for the primaries look about like this dudes mouth ----->

exaggerating a bit. just not perfect ovals. there is a good picture in the external section of some pacesetters or flowtechs that looked about the same. wish i could find it.

They just left the bead of the weld inside the pipe, and didn't grind it smooth? Is that basically what you are saying? Couldn't you just grind that out yourself?

They seal fine. The header ports are larger than those of the head. I like mine, but I'd really like a pair of those $1400 dynatech headers/y-pipe.

I expect them to seal fine, but I was wondering if the reason that people talk about the ports is if they leave the bead on the inside, and it would just act as a restriction for the exhaust flow?

Theyre smooth inside the tube (although mine are ceramic coated inside & out), but on the flange the ports aren't perfectly flat. They have a raised ridge around each tube, is this what you mean by the bead of the weld?

No, but you did answer my question, because I was asking about the inside of the tube. I think that I have a decent idea of what you guys are talking about now.

Well, sorry for the confusion. I can't think of another way to state it. The tube entrance is not oval shaped. Instead of a perfect oval to match the e-head ports, they look somewhat like this dudes mouth
