Default Serpentine Belt radix

I toasted my serpentine belt tonight. I running a 3.0 pulley right now on the radix. With what used to be the belt that came with the kit.I was woundering how much smaller of belts you guys are running with a 3.0 inch pulley. And how much smaller is to much. The only thing I could find tonight was a belt that was a 1/2 inch shorter. **** it was the only belt that I could find that was even close. But it seemed to go on ok and I thought maybe I could go even smaller.

Get a Goodyear GatorBack belt. They are the best out there! I think I'm running a 110" belt, but it will ruin altenator bearings if you're running the stock pulley.

Flyer, I can't seem to find any belts smaller than a 110.5". I'm using a 110.5" gatorback now. A 110" would be perfect for my new pulley. Do you have any more info or a part# on the 110"?

Mine's a 110.5 too. I just went and looked. I didn't get the whole part number, but it's 110.5 6 rib belt.

Explain the "ruin the alternator bearings" part of that post please.

That belt is slightly to small. I put it on at first and started to hear a whine. I ha dmy altenator replaced on the z71 when I had it. The idler pulley on the new one is bad.

I have a 110.5" belt and a 3.1 pulley. I will be putting on a 2.9" pulley before long though.
