Well ... $732 parts later, I supposedly have all the parts to fix the tranny. I did go ahead and get the Torque Drive system, which includes a hardened input shaft, that is press fit in the input drum and comes with a shell that's better than 'The Beast'. I got several other little pieces too. I will have to name them out later on.

Hrm... did you also purchase the billet servos or perhaps the GM 5 pinion planets?

No 5 pinion planets. They were 500 bucks alone for the rfont and rear. I did get the OD billet servo. I'm going to stick with the vette intermediate one to keep the 1-2 tame though.

After browsing through the manual ... this is looking more and more like it's gonna be a real bitch to set up.

Did you buy that manual for $25? All the ones on ebay are like $14... that's what I got.

It's not as bad as you think, you WILL need some special tools. Spring compressor, dial indicator, feeler gauges, selective snap rings, needle bearings, **** like that. I'd set aside a few days for this...

Sounds like a good deal of swearing and beer drinking is going to be going on!

You are half right ... I'm afraid this is going to be a rather sobering experience though judging from some of the diagrams.
