Default Trans Blown with Radix on Sliverado SS, need help

I just got the call from the dealer, trans is blown. 2,3,4 and clutch gone....

He was wondering if the trans pump pressure was changed when the new chip (came with the Radix) was put in? His thinking that the added HP brings the RPM up faster and the pump can’t keep up.....

He's going to look at the program, but have any of you changed Trans Pump pressure, via programming?

Any ideas?

Thanks.....

can't answer your question but i have a stock tranny for sale if your interested. it is from an 03 and has 50k on it.

i doubt the dealer will be willing to get you the tranny you need. FLP seems to be the best place for strong trannys.

They do raise line pressure a little. The max pressure isn't any higher than stock. They don't raise line pressure anymore than an HPP3 tuner does.

It sounds like you just burnt up the clutches. It happened to me on a stock tranny with the RADIX too. You need some better friction material.

That's not your problem at all with the pump. ProblemS start here: lack of fluid flow to the 3-4 clutch pack, slow internal shifts, insufficient apply of the 2-4 band, I can keep going to write a novel.

BUT, you do have some stuff to be happy about... your dealer sounds like they will rebuild it for free which is and your 4L65E is a much better trans to begin with... you have better input/output shafts, 5 pinion planets, slightly different valve body, and some other doodads I am too lazy to mention.

If they do just a regular rebuild on it, I'd get a TransGo kit in there ASAP and the Fairbanks billet servos.

I think the Radix program leaves some torque management that lowers your line pressure on the shifts and cooks the clutches. They are gambling that you won't run hard often enough to cook the clutches.Besides if you take the torque management out you'll kill the hard parts.
