very sorry to hear that... glad you are ok, a fire in a garage is no joke.

did you put it out with an extinguisher? what kind?

Before I start my engine for the first time, I'm getting one of these. It won't corrode or damage the engine from thermal shock.

Sorry to hear that. I can honestly say I know what that feels like. I had an engine that was on fire for way too long.

i had my B2 style dry chem next to me but it failed to work. so i had to run and grab my garden hose while my wife ran to grab the kids out of the house. my sons room is directly above the garage. so far the damage only appears to be the engine wiring harness and the power brake booster vacuum hose and the PCV hose. when i get home from work ill give it a better inspection to see.

Don't give up.It does suck but at least no one was injuered.Always start your motor outside so there is no chance of burning down the house.Always run the fuel system before you start motor so you can make sure there is no leaks.

How did the fire start?

Good luck.

I built my fuel lines by hand and I think a fitting broke free. I had a leaky injector o-ring but not enough to drop let alone burn that big

What a dissappointment... I've never had an engine catch on fire, but I know the feeling of a serious last minute problem or snag all too well.

If this was easy, everyone would do it! Keep your head up and everything will come together eventually.

That's a pretty rough deal bud. I hope you get everything worked out, and am glad nothing else was damaged.
