Default FloPro muffler or Magnaflow catback?

Help me decide what to do. on my setup, which is in my sig, would i be better off just adding a flopro muffler or doing a whole magnaflow catback? the muffler is obviously the cheaper route. would i be wasting money by doing a catback? OR should i scratch both ideas and have a custom exhaust done?

I have a flowmaster catback right now and I was thinking of just taking off the flomaster and getting the flo-pro to put inplace of it. My flomaster is just too damn loud I have heard good things about the Flo-pro, and that it has almost no drone and a clean sound. I believe these HD's have a good exhaust system stock, but I am going to try the Flo-Pro next. Hope this helps.

I have been through dam near as many muffler combos as Y2K,Ok not that many but I finally have one I am happy with the flopro. If you want great flow and no resonence then this could be for you.I have a large single out,not as loud as the others,my buddy has a dual out flowpro,It sounds better and is only a little louder than stock aprox 15-20% louder, next choice would be the largest magnaflow dual out I think 8x11x22 something like that,It may sound better than the flopro, deeper and louder but you may have resenance.

One thing to remember on the cat-backs is that they are bolt-in and bolt-out and they have strong resale value. I bought my Magnaflow cat-back for around $400 shipped and I expect to get at least $250 out of it when I go to sell it.

good point. i'm waiting for a price quote on the Magnaflow right now. I could probably do it myself. i'll need to get someone to weld the new cats in place though i think. i think they get welded in anyway. someone told me to put an x pipe on before the cats for some reason. right now the pipes come out of the manifolds each into a cat then into the muffler. they aren't connected to each other at all till they get to the muffler. why would i want to connect them with an x pipe?

I'm thinking of trying the magnaflow catback on my 05 SS ,flowmasters are just to loud and every other person has them. I haven't heard the proflo in person yet.

I think it sounds very good, very mellow and almost silent at idle.I do have a little resonance when pulling my trailer but unloaded is not a problem.I dont know if I am supposed to post what I paid so I will PM you with that info.
