how was the fitment of the pipes together within the Y pipe? I've had a lot of problems in the past with the pipes being out of round and not fitting well.

Being a 46 year old gearhead, I have installed many, many sets of headers and different exhausts on my own, and other people's cars, trucks and motorcycles.

No fitment issues anywhere. This header/Y pipe kit is probably the best fitting setup I have ever installed. Aside from that one driver's side primary pipe that goes up and hogs up the spark plug wire area, I really can't say anything negative about them at all.

And I hear ya loud and clear on fitment worries as I originally bought a DYNOMAX 3" into dual 2.5" catback for my truck and in less than 24 hours I had my local muffler shop cut it off and install a custom setup. $350 for the Dynomax "kit" which went into the dumpster, then $425 for the custom setup the next day... I have never, ever seen such a poor fitting exhaust made by such a well known company in my life. You shouldn't have to heat, bend, cut, and resize an exhaust setup that is supposedly specifically designed for one of the biggest selling most popular style trucks that there is on the road. I could see if it was an Isuzu with an LS1 swap, but a 1999 or newer ECSB GM pickup is not a rare setup, lol. Had to vent a little...sorry.

Mine fit very well also. I just took some header wrap and two hose clamps and wrapped that one primary before i put it on and thats working perfect for not burning the plug wire. Other than that they fit everywhere else really nice. They fit better than my pacesetters did, they hit the frame at idle and it sounded like a woodpecker wreaking havoc under my truck. Drove me crazy!

You'd need to get the one with the intermediate pipe built for the 6.0 setup since it has a dual in muffler compared to the Y pipe of the 4.8/5.3 setup.

FWIW, dnamotoring now has them back on Ebay...$300 + $40 shipping, so price went up $20, but still quite a deal IMO.
