Default ? about Perma-Cool electric fans

I was looking in one of the new Summit Racing catalogs and found some Perma-Cool electric fans that might fit my truck. It says it will fit a 17" x 28" radiator core, the item #PRM-19517. Will it fit?

Yes, they fit. I bought these fans but I would suggest you look for others just because of how expensive they are.

Did they make a difference in cooling and performance?

My engine temp stays around 165*-180*. I didn't feel a gain in performance but I did get a better 1/4 mile time by .2-.3 consistently over my previous time.

What mods do have and what do you run in the 1/4? Do you have a 160* thermostat?

Jeff, I didn't mean to say there was no performance gain, it's just that I didn't feel much of a difference. That's why I stated the improved time, to show there is a performance gain.

99silveradoSS, I have a '01 ext. cab 4x4 w/5.3. My truck isn't very fast, though I've done a lot of work to it. It's kind of hard to get a 5400 lb truck moving while staying naturally aspirated. At the time of my first run I had several things done: ported heads, 216/220 cam 1.8 crane rockers, JBA headers, k&n intake, 3" exhaust, and power trax locker. Even with all this I only ran a 15.8-also had a full tank of gas. The next time I went to the track I added the electric fans, did a lot of weight reduction and ran on a 1/4 tank of gas. That time I ran 15.1. I posted earlier of a .2-.3 drop in time though it was a total of .7, I was trying to figure in the weight reduction.
